My Personality Type:
“INFPs are quiet, creative, sensitive and perceptive souls who often strike others as shy, reserved and cool. These folks have a rare capacity for deep caring and commitment--both to the people and causes they idealize. INFPs guide their behavior by a strong inner sense of values, rather than by conventional logic and reason. Forced to cope with this facts-and-figures “real” world we inhabit, INFPs may appear to have been imported from another galaxy! They gravitate toward creative or human service careers which allow them to use their instinctive sense of empathy and remarkable communication skills. Strongly religious, spiritual or philosophical people, INFPs may see the purpose of their lives as an inner journey, quest or personal unfolding. More practical or rational types may tend to discredit the INFP’s sources of understanding as mystical. The search for a soulmate is a preoccupation for many INFPs, who must balance their need for privacy and peace with their yearning for human connection. If there seems to be an air of sadness in the INFP’s spirit, blame it on this type’s longing for the perfect in all things.” The Insight Game
I really enjoyed this game, I found it very interesting. I also liked the fact that it was interactive, it made taking the survey much more fun than having to fill out the bubbles on the old forms.
I do agree with a lot of the results from the survey. I believe that I am “quiet, creative, sensitive and perceptive souls who often strike others as shy, reserved and cool” if I wasn’t I am probably in the wrong career field. I also agree with having a deep caring and commitment with both people and cause I idealize. Not to get to personal I have been in a couple of bad relationships and even though I knew they were bad I still stayed until I just absolutely couldn’t take anymore. I think that in a sense is what having a deep caring and commitment with people meant.
“INFPs guide their behavior by a strong inner sense of values, rather than by conventional logic and reason. Forced to cope with this facts-and-figures “real” world we inhabit, INFPs may appear to have been imported from another galaxy!” I think this is funny because it is so true for me. My husband is a very analytical thinker, when we get into our debates he says I’m from another galaxy! I don’t listen to logic I go by how I feel about the subject. We have had some pretty deep debates and in the end no matter how logical he makes the subject sound I will always go by my feelings on the subject.
“They gravitate toward creative or human service careers which allow them to use their instinctive sense of empathy and remarkable communication skills.” This all I can say is “DUH”! No, seriously, I agree with gravitating toward the creative career but I’m not a very communicative person, I tend to have a hard time explaining things, I just can do them.
“Strongly religious, spiritual or philosophical people, INFPs may see the purpose of their lives as an inner journey, quest or personal unfolding. More practical or rational types may tend to discredit the INFP’s sources of understanding as mystical.” I don’t completely agree with this for me. I am religious; I believe in GOD, however, I don’t follow the bible or go to church. So I wouldn’t agree with being “strongly religious or spiritual.”
“The search for a soul mate is a preoccupation for many INFPs, who must balance their need for privacy and peace with their yearning for human connection.” I would say it isn't a preoccupation but I do believe in soul mates, I believe I found mine, my husband. As crazy as this might sound Lance and I when we were younger, I was a freshmen and he was a junior in high school, we lived in the same apartment complex, we were friends with the same group of friends, he was friends with my best friends brother and his group of riends as well as the same group of friends as my brothers, we went to the same high school and have the same birthday, August 5th and never met. We didn’t end up meeting until 5 years ago. We feel in love and are as happy now as we were back when we first met and now with having a precious baby boy nothing could be better.
